Have you felt disgusted when you see people throwing plastic bottles and waste here and there, you wanted to teach them a lesson but couldn't do anything? Have you felt shame at seeing Plastic Waste scattered at places, your heartfelt desire being to see your city clean? Have you wanted to clean up that waste but it is so huge that you can't do it all by yourself?
United Nations Environment Program has brought forth the Tide Turner's Challenge to help you actualize this, of which The International Society for Krishna Consciousness is an Official Supporter. Tide Turner's Program is a global youth movement where participants can help to reduce plastic pollution by simple steps. They get to earn UNEP’s certificate, badges and satisfaction for bringing a change.
The Tide Turners Plastic Challenge is a global youth movement to fight plastic pollution around the world. It is designed to inspire young adults to reflect upon their plastic consumption, discover solutions to reduce this consumption, and lead change in their homes, communities, institutions and offices
By joining the challenge, you will be part of an entire generation of young leaders who are changing the world, one action at a time!
If you are youth (11-35 years of age) and keep the desire to make a difference, register for the challenge as an individual and embark upon a journey to become a Tide Turner Champion.
Even if you don't fall in this age group, you can still make a difference by promoting and sharing this very important message to your family, friends, relatives and knowns who fall in this age group.
You will learn about the negative impacts of plastic pollution on nature and man, and feel inspired to change your own plastic use, and encourage others around you. When we know better, we do better!
This planet is our home, and it is our responsibility to keep it safe and clean. In India, each individual consumes close to 11 kgs of plastic annually. This is why every individual action matters!
Plastic pollution is a man-made problem, and we all must do our part to solve it. This is your chance to be a champion in your community and lead change!
